Australia: Land of the Kangaroos and Koalas

Introduction

Australia is a land of great natural beauty, home to many unique animals. It also has some of the most beautiful beaches on Earth and an incredible array of foods that you’ll never find anywhere else. With so much to see, do and eat when you visit Australia, it’s easy to forget about discovering the land itself. In this article we’ll share our favorite things about this amazing country and give you tips on what else you should do while visiting Australia if time allows!Australia: Land of the Kangaroos and Koalas

Australia is land of the kangaroos and koalas

Australia is home to many unique animals and plants. The two most well-known Australian animals are the kangaroo and the koala. Kangaroos are found in the grasslands, while koalas live in eucalyptus forests.

Australia also has some of the world’s most venomous creatures–the funnel web spider and box jellyfish (which can kill you!). But don’t worry–they’re not likely to bite you!

The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s biggest natural structure made by living organisms

The Great Barrier Reef is a living structure made up of over 2,900 individual reefs that stretch for 1,400 miles (2,300 km) along the coast of Queensland, Australia. The reef contains over 1,600 species of fish and 4,000 types of mollusks; it’s also home to thousands of plants and animals.

The Great Barrier Reef was designated a World Heritage Site in 1981 by UNESCO because it’s considered “the most diverse marine ecosystem on Earth.” This means that you’ll have plenty to see here–and plenty more if you go snorkeling!

You can see Australian wildlife at the Melbourne zoo

The Melbourne Zoo is the oldest zoo in the world and it’s a great place to see Australian wildlife. The zoo has many different types of animals, including kangaroos, koalas, wombats and emus. It’s also home to unique Australian birds like cockatoos and parrots.

If you’re looking for an educational experience with your family or friends then this is definitely one attraction you should add to your itinerary!

Melbourne is a great city to explore with its many attractions, including the Queen Victoria Market.

As you walk through the Queen Victoria Market, you’ll find everything from fresh produce to arts and crafts. There are also plenty of restaurants offering delicious food options at affordable prices. If you’re looking for something more traditional, check out some of Melbourne’s many pubs or bars!

If you want to see more than just what’s inside the market itself, there are plenty of other things to do in Melbourne–and they’re all within walking distance from each other! The nearby Royal Botanic Gardens offer beautiful scenery as well as great photo opportunities (don’t forget your camera!). Another must-see attraction here is Federation Square, which features sculptures by international artists such as Anish Kapoor and Jeff Koons.

Sydney has lots of interesting things to see, including the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

Sydney is a world-class city, and there are many things to see and do here. The Sydney Opera House is one of the most famous landmarks in Australia, while the Harbour Bridge is another well-known landmark. If you’re into sports, then you should check out some cricket matches at Sydney Cricket Ground or rugby games at Stadium Australia (which hosted several Olympic events). And if you just want to relax on a beach with an icy beverage in hand, Bondi Beach might be your scene!

There are countless other attractions around town as well–you could spend days exploring them all without running out of things to do!

See more of Australia before you leave!

If you’re a nature lover and want to see some wild kangaroos, you can. If you want to go hiking in the rainforest, there’s plenty of that too. There are also beaches where you can swim with dolphins or surf on the waves of a perfect Aussie summer day.

Australia has so much to offer that it would be impossible for one trip–or even two–to see everything this country has to offer! So if your time here is limited, make sure not to miss out on these must-see highlights:

  • Visit Uluru (Ayers Rock)
  • Go swimming with sea lions at Shark Bay World Heritage Site
